Global Alliance

Since the organisation of the first trial of the Cripps Pink apple variety in the south west corner of Western Australia in the early 1980’s, a great deal of energy from a large number of people throughout the world has resulted in the protection of the intellectual property in the variety and the development of the Pink Lady® trade mark applied to apples meeting the quality standards. The Pink Lady® trade mark is today widely accepted internationally as an indicator of the premier apple of the decade and possibly the half century.

The most significant market development has occurred in Europe, with UK retailers first establishing Pink Lady® as a premium new apple brand in the early 1990’s - to a situation today where the Pink Lady® product is eagerly sought after in the UK, France, Germany, Belgium, Scandinavia, Netherlands, Ireland, Italy and Spain.

Considerable energy is also contributing to increasing success of Pink Lady® product in the North American market.

Pink Lady™ apples in Australia increase their share of the domestic market year-by-year and the domestic market in South Africa for Pink Lady® product is also increasing in significance.
